Most of our faculty are consistently rated amongst the best in their respective specialty and actively engage in research to give their patients the most effective diagnosis, treatments and prevention therapies available today.  Tulane Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children has been rated one of the top 29 teaching hosptitals in the country and is the only free standing hospital in the New Orleans area solely dedicated to the care of women and children.

In addition to providing outstanding clinical care and education, the Department of Pediatrics at Tulane is endowed with superb clinician-scientists who conduct cutting edge research in multiple areas such as nephrology, human genetics, cancer, infectious disease, critical care, cystic fibrosis, asthma and growth and development.  The faculty are often cited and contribute to pediatric medical publications and participate at national and regional conferences as experts in the related fields.
