One in every nine of our fathers, husbands, brothers or sons will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. One in 41 will die of this disease. Prostate cancer is a formidable opponent, but through research and the tireless dedication of world-renowned experts like Tulane Cancer Center’s Oliver Sartor, M.D., we are battling back, and we are making progress. You can join the fight! On Saturday, September 21, 2019, Tulane Cancer Center will host the Sixth Annual NOLA Bluedoo to benefit the prostate cancer research fund at Tulane Cancer Center.
Bluedoo is a festival-style celebration of prostate cancer survivorship – with great food, drink, music, a two-mile walk/run and MORE. It’s also a fundraiser – the ONLY prostate cancer event of its kind in our area – benefiting Dr. Oliver Sartor’s Prostate Cancer Research Program at Tulane Cancer Center.
Proceeds from donations, sponsorships, auction/parade of prizes, raffles and party passes benefit prostate cancer research. Proceeds from walk/run registrations benefit the New Orleans Track Club.

The Blue Ribbon Soirée is a fun-filled night with delicious food and beverages from nearly 20 vendors. It includes silent and live auctions, a raffle and a cork pull. Guests are encouraged to dress in blue - the color of prostate cancer awareness. The event's purpose is to increase awareness of the importance of early detection of prostate cancer as well as raise funds for research. Its primary beneficiary is Dr. Oliver Sartor – a world-renowned prostate cancer expert and the only medical oncologist in Louisiana specializing in advanced prostate cancer.
