American Heart Association Certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS)

The American Heart Association has extended AHA Instructor and Provider course completion card expiration dates for 120 days beyond the current renewal dates, beginning with cards expiring March 2020. For more information regarding this AHA update, visit http://cpr.heart.org.

5/14 Update: We will begin offering classroom versions of AHA classes starting in June (2020). We will be taking all recommended precautions during courses by spreading out participants to the extent possible and frequent disinfecting of equipment. We will also require all participants to wear masks/face covering during skills and testing portions of classes, when they might be in close proximity to instructors or other participants. Currently with limited supplies of PPE, we cannot provide masks for all participants. We ask that you bring your own mask or face covering. Our current plans for summer classroom sessions including the following and will have more dates added if classes fill up.

Registration now open for AHA certifcation classes or HeartCode certifications: https://tulane.enrollware.com/schedule

BLS Classroom course (all 5-9pm) - June 16, July 16, Aug 4, Aug 18

ACLS Classroom course (Saturdays 8am-6pm) - June 20, July 18, Aug 8

ACLS Classroom 2-night course (both nights 5pm-10pm) - June 9-10

Anyone currently needing certification (BLS, ACLS, PALS) can choose to take the HeartCode version of the course, instead of waiting for a classroom version. HeartCode courses are completed in two parts. Part one is completed online on your own. The part two skills check must be completed at the Tulane Sim Center, by appointment only. You will complete your skills check individually with a computerized manikin that is cleaned and maintained with all recommended disinfecting techniques. Your certification is immediately available upon successful completion of both parts.

Registration now open for AHA certifcation classes or HeartCode certifications: https://tulane.enrollware.com/schedule

BLS HeartCode - $85 ($75 Tulane cost)

ACLS HeartCode - $200 ($185 Tulane cost)

PALS HeartCode - $225 ($210 Tulane cost)

If you are paying for HeartCode with a Tulane department IT, contact your department coordinator. Department coordinators, contact us at simcenter@tulane.edu for questions.
