What is Mental Health Consultation?

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) is an intervention that teams a mental health professional with early childhood professionals to improve the social, emotional and behavioral health of young children in early learning settings.

On-Site Support

 

TIKES ECMHC

  • No Cost to all Louisiana Type III Centers
  • 6 Month Consultation Cycle
  • Professional Development for teachers and other early childhood professionals by Tulane psychologists and early childhood mental health specialists.

       Topics include:

  • Temperament
  • Building Positive Relationships
  • Working with Families
  • Attachment
  • Creating Supportive Environments
  • Managing Challenging Behaviors
  • School Readiness
  • Using Social Emotional Teaching Strategies
  • And many more!

Both Child-Centered and Program-Centered Services are available

 

ECMHC is available for Other Early Childhood Settings

 

Fee for Service Programs include:

  • Child Care Centers
  • Early Head Start and Head Start Centers
