Dr. David Wartenberg is a board-certified family physician with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience. He enjoys caring for the adolescent to geriatric population, teaming up with and educating his patients about their health so that they can achieve their healthcare goals. He has a special interest in identifying the presence of and treatment of vitamin and nutritional deficiencies and minimizing polypharmacy to prevent uncomfortable and dangerous adverse drug reactions and drug interactions. Dr. Wartenberg performs many office-based procedures including joint and trigger point injections, skin biopsies, mole removal, incision and drainage of abscesses.
Dr. Wartenberg is a native Northeasterner who made the south his home after graduating from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1992. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine/ Shand’s Hospital in 1997. He practiced for 15 years in Jacksonville, Florida, including six years as faculty with the University of Florida in Jacksonville. He then moved to the Panhandle of Florida practicing traditional outpatient family medicine and urgent care. Dr. Wartenberg is looking forward to sharing his experiences in practice training the next generation of physicians.
In his free time, you will likely find Dr. Wartenberg and his wife enjoying all the amazing entertainment, architecture, food, drink and culture that New Orleans has to offer. Dr. Wartenberg enjoys all forms of music and plays the piano, ukulele and guitar. He and his wife love animals and have three rescue dogs.
