A Welcome from the Chief
In the proud tradition of the Tulane University School of Medicine, the Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute (TUHVI ) couples excellence in clinical care with innovative technologies and cutting edge applications in order to advance the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
It is our mission to provide the best in heart and vascular care for the residents of greater New Orleans, the State of Louisiana and for patients referred to our institution from throughout the world. We are focused on a personalized and thoughtful approach, where the patient is involved in all aspects of their care.Read More
Since Katrina, the Section of Cardiology and the TUHVI have undergone a rebirth, not unlike the entire New Orleans region. We have re-established our presence in the community and have added new initiatives in cardiovascular medicine, as well as many new practitioners.
In addition to our primary mission of providing the highest quality CV care for our patients, we will continue to expand research initiatives which may well define future clinical practice. Our current emphasis is on hypertension (high blood pressure), diagnostic testing, treatment of advanced coronary artery disease, therapies for atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders, heart failure and peripheral vascular disease
We also remained committed, as we have been for more than 40 years, to the education of future cardiovascular specialists, which currently includes 24 advanced cardiovascular trainees.
Within the pages of our website, we hope you will find the resources needed to identify programs and providers to best suit your needs. Thank you for your interest in the Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute.
