Dr. Andrew Apple is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of knee and hip disorders, including primary and revision joint replacement. After graduating from Duke University, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Apple earned his medical degree and completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. He then pursued a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
While in residency at Tulane, Dr. Apple received the Chairman’s Award, given to the senior resident who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, intelligence, compassion, commitment to patient care, and who has been an outstanding role model for the junior residents. He also was the recipient of the William Sherman Award as the most outstanding second-year resident. Dr. Apple has authored numerous publications and has presented his research at regional, national, and international conferences. He also currently serves as a reviewer for multiple journals. Dr. Apple is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Apple is excited to return to Tulane University and New Orleans as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics. He currently sees patients at Tulane-Lakeside in Metairie and Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in uptown New Orleans.
