Dr. Margarita Silio is a pediatric infectious disease specialist in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her medical degree from Universidad Central del Este Facultad de Medicina in the Dominican Republic and completed her pediatric training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. After completing her pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center she chose to raise her family here. New Orleans has been her home for 25 years. Her area of expertise is in HIV care, tuberculosis and travel medicine. She enjoys traveling with her family and has been to a few amazing places but the most memorable was visiting Cuba with her father and meeting her relatives for the first time. Her father had not been back to Cuba since he left in 1956. Dr. Silio is bilingual in Spanish and English.
