The Department of Pediatrics’ Section of Pediatric Neurology plays an integral role in the education of medical students and residents, and provides comprehensive care to children with all types of neurological disorders. Available treatment options include ketogenic diet in conjunction with Pediatric Gastroenterology, Vagus Nerve Simulator (VNS) or other types of brain surgery for epilepsy and Baclofen pumps for spasticity in conjunction with Pediatric Neurosurgery, and inpatient Video EEG monitoring for evaluation for epilepsy surgery or to clarify etiology for paroxysmal events.
In addition to our clinical services, our faculty and staff are actively involved in improving treatment options and outcomes for children by conducting clinical research that focuses on a wide variety of neurologic problems and disorders.
