Thomas Beller is the author of two works of fiction, "Seduction Theory," and "The Sleep-Over Artist," a collection of personal essays, "How to Be A Man," and a biography, J.D. Salinger: The Escape Artist," which won the New York City Book Award. His short fiction has appeared in the New Yorker and Best American Short Stories as well as numerous anthologies. He was a co-founder and editor of the literary magazine and press Open City from 1990-2010, and publishes the website mrbellersneighborhood.com, focused on non-fiction set in New York City. He is a frequent contributor of essays and reportage to the New Yorker and The New York Times.
