Years at Tulane:
My primary interests are on infant and early childhood mental health consultation to childcare. I am a senior supervisor for Tulane’s Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation to Child Care Program (TIKES), a founding member of The RAINE Group, a consortium of national experts dedicated to advancing the practice, policy and research in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) convened by Southwest Human Development, and an expert faculty member for the National Center of IECMHC in Washington, DC.
Another area of interest is reflective practice and supervision; in 2009 I co-edited a book with Dr. Linda Gilkerson on providing reflective supervision to professionals in the field of early childhood intervention. I also direct the Tulane Early Childhood Relationships Support and Services (TBEARS), a home visiting program, affiliated with the Fussy Baby Network, which supports caregivers who are struggling with their infant or toddler (see www.tbears.org for more information on this program).
The majority of my current research is related to one of the three areas described above: evaluating the impact of IECMHC, TBEARS, reflective supervision, and parent/teacher support.
