Rachel notes that she has been in love with New Orleans for some time. She considers it an otherworldly sort of place with pathology most people only ever see in textbooks. She is thrilled that Tulane has Med-Psych, to be able to live in Midcity, her dream neighborhood, and to enjoy a program that feels like a family; strangely, a family of people who are as smart and talented as they are compassionate. Big thinkers with bigger hearts. She enjoys baking sourdough bread, food blogging, creative writing, long-distance running, jazz, bulldogs and hound dogs, and she is krewe member of both Red Beans Parade and Mondo Kayo Mardi Gras social clubs. Professionally, she has founded Tulane's Narrative Medicine chapter and also Death Cafe. Her professional interests include narrative medicine, psychosomatic illness, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and integrative primary care.
