Dr. Chrissy Guidry joined Tulane School of Medicine full-time faculty as Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery August 2017 in the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery department. Her areas of research interest include damage control resuscitation in severely injured trauma patient. Dr. Guidry was born and raised in Cut Off, Louisiana. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree from LSU in Baton Rouge and Master of Science at Tulane University in New Orleans; she earned her Doctor of Osteopathy from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA in 2009. After medical school, she completed her training in general surgery at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. During her research year, she completed an away research rotation in the Trauma department at Tulane in New Orleans (2011-2012). Upon completion of residency in Ohio 2015, she pursued and completed a fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, 2015-2017.
