Dr. Rebecca Schroll, MD, FACS is board certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, and works as a Trauma Surgeon, Acute Care Surgeon and Surgical Intensivist at both Tulane Medical Center and University Medical Center New Orleans, the region’s only level 1 trauma center.
Dr. Schroll received her Bachelor of Science from Truman State University in Missouri, followed by her MD from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri. She subsequently completed her General Surgery residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and her Trauma & Critical Care fellowship at Louisiana State University Health in New Orleans.
After completing training in 2013, Dr. Schroll remained in New Orleans to become full-time faculty at Tulane University School of Medicine. She also has a faculty appointment at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. She has served as both the Tulane Surgery ICU Medical Director and General Surgery Residency Program Associate Program Director before becoming the Program Director for the Tulane General Surgery Residency in 2017. Her research interests include trauma, critical care, acute care surgery, surgical education, and violence prevention. She co-directs the local Stop the Bleed-NOLA campaign and is passionate about growing the Stop the Bleed program locally, regionally and nationally.
