I am interested in identification of novel genetic and epigenetic mechanisms involved in premature cartilage aging, primary osteoarthritis (OA) and other connective tissue disorders. In our laboratory next-generation sequencing technology is used to identify changes in the human genome and transcriptome that predispose to these disorders. Our current projects are focused on the contribution of dysfunctional telomeres and components of exosomal cargo (proteins and miRNAs) to primary osteoarthritis.
