Farmer’s Market coming to Hutchinson Building on October 25

October 13, 2023 5:30 PM

Tulane University Dining Services is testing out a farmer's market in the School of Medicine's Hutchinson Building on Wednesday, October 25.

Making groceries is about to get easier for Tulananians on the downtown campus. Tulane University Dining Services plans to hold its first farmers market on Wednesday, October 25, in the lobby of Tulane School of Medicine’s Hutchinson Building. The market will offer a selection of fresh, local fruits and vegetables and specialty baked goods.

The market will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If the day goes well, it’s the first of what could become a regular event. Gulf Coast Produce is the leading supplier and helps maintain Tulane’s commitment to buying fresh and local first.

“The farmer’s market has been very successful on the uptown campus,” said John Sartori, Field Marketing Specialist for Tulane Dining Services by Sodexo. “This is a test to see how well it works downtown.”
