School of Medicine Shines in Tulane Academic Year in Review

From groundbreaking research and lifesaving patient care to national recognition and the training of the next generation of physicians, Tulane University School of Medicine made its mark across the university during the 2025-26 academic year.

Tulane University's annual Academic Year in Review celebrates achievements from across the university, and this year's edition highlights the School of Medicine's impact in research, education, clinical care, and the community.

Among the highlights, Tulane researchers identified a promising new approach to treating a deadly lung disease, physicians performed a lifesaving heart transplant, and the Louisiana Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders became the first facility in the state to administer gene therapy for hemophilia A.

The year also brought new investments in research, national recognition for faculty, milestones for medical students and trainees, and a new chapter for the historic Charity Hospital building.
