Room 7800: secure room reserved only for medical students rotating in any clerkship at Tulane Medical Center. This room is located on the 7th floor, on the clinic side and is available 24/7. *Code access is required and available from the clerkship coordinator.
There are ample spaces/desks with several HCA computers
There are also lockers for securing your personal items, Students must bring their own lock.
1. River Boat Room:
This room is used for many other activities, but when not in use, this room is available for students as study space. Usually open from 8am - 5pm.
To book/use this room: You must check schedule posted outside door before emailing Denise Jochum at Denise.jochum@hcahealthcare.com and request a reservation at your desired date and time.
*If room is locked during regular business hours, Ms. Denise will be able to open the room. She can be found in the administration offices within the hospital. If booked after business hours, students will need to have hospital security open room for them.
2. Sleep Room on 4th Floor:
This room is for Medical students between the hours 7am – 5pm Monday through Friday (room must be available for resident sleep availability from 5pm-7am and all day Saturday/Sunday)
3. Hospital Cafeteria Vending Machine/Concession Area:
next to cafeteria on 1st floor; open 24/7 with available tables and chairs. Once main cafeteria closes at 2 pm, this concession area is less busy.
Lockers are located in the 2nd floor general peds clinic
4th floor, in Sleep Rooms: 8 Lockers have been added with locks (4 red locks for Peds, 4 blue locks for OB) Code access is required and available from the clerkship coordinator.

Outer room of the Pediatric Auxiliary Office Space, suite 120 on 1st floor. *Code access is required and available from the clerkship coordinator.

1st floor D&T building, room 1500, Relaxation space/lounge There is internet, about 20 computers, phones, sofas, chairs. Access with an ID.
Ob/Gyn: 5th floor outpatient clinic space (5C) resident work room
Neurology: Conference room - in the hospital on the 3rd floor of Tower 2, Classroom 32A. There are tables, computers, and storage space for personal items (This room is used exclusively by Tulane Neurology and is located in the hall that leads into the hospital rooms, just outside the elevators).
Medicine: Small room used only for group study

Physician’s Lounge and the OR Lounge
Student lounge in the Medical Education Building has space for group study.
Pediatrics rounding room has space for group study and computers available to students.
Conference Room on Pediatrics floor has space available for group study.
Resident/Student lounge on first floor has space available for group study.
Medical Library on first floor has space available for individual study and computers available to students.
Lockers are available in the Medical Education Building and in the student/resident lounge in the hospital.
Students must bring their own lock.
Library on Campus and OR Lounge is accessible to student usage
The Resident Lounge on 4 Center is a locked room where students may store their belongings. Limited lockers are available.
Students have access to the hospital library (on the first floor) for study time. Library is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Physician’s Lounge as well as a Study Space with Computer Access on Campus
Physician Lounge, 3rd floor
Resident provides code to enter. Two call rooms and open seating in lounge area (couch/chairs/table).

1st Floor Library, No Access Code or ID required, 9 Computers. The hospital library is located on the first floor and has multiple computer stations, a copier machine, and the GME librarian is there to answer any questions. The library is also open 24/7 and if for any reason the door is locked, the student can contact security and they will open it for them. Students are given security contact information before they start just in case that happens.
On the 4th Floor, there is a student lounge equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, dining table/chairs, and a desk with a computer. The lounge is accessible 24/7 and students do not need a code to access it. It is located in the same area as GME sleep room 1.

Each call room has a twin bed, bedside tables, reading lamp/chair, a computer desk with computers, TV, sheets, and towels. There is Wi-Fi available in the facility .

Education Building
Small room available for group study as well as individual study carrel and individual open seating available. There’s also an individual study room.
Pediatric Residency Office Suite in Medical Office Building II, which contains a conference room and some desk space which students can use.
Resident/student lounge has individual and group study spaces. The rounding room on the Pediatrics floor is a large space with tables/desks/computers available for students. The Resident on-call room on the second floor of the hospital has carrels and tables/chairs for studying.

ER Area - designated study area
Lockers are available in the student/resident lounge in the hospital. Students must bring their own lock.

Secure storage available in designated resident/student clinic area in HPL Gynecology Clinic, 2nd floor.

3rd Floor resident/medical student workroom Study space with three sleep rooms and 6 computer stations.
Students are given office #1C162, 1st Floor, Psych Building #25 for study space with a computer.
Students are issued a key to that office.
Students are issued a key for the locker/cabinet to store their belongings. The locker/cabinet is located inside the office.
Health center assistant workstation area (shared area) and clinician work station. Student is given a tour of clinic space at orientation.

This is free standing health clinic with a conference room that can be used as study space when free/available.
