Tulane Doctors ~ Surgery ~ Trauma & Critical Care

The Trauma Division of the Tulane University Department of Surgery is a nationally recognized leader in system-based education, community outreach, patient care, and research.  It has a long tradition of excellence and has been responsible for, among other things, major advances in pre-hospital care, new techniques in resuscitation and conservative surgery for severely injured patients, and many other important innovations.  One of the major missions of the Division of Trauma is education of medical students, residents, and paraprofessionals, which occupies the majority of the effort of the group.  The Division sponsors the Tulane Trauma Institute, a program for advanced trauma care and the Tulane Global Trauma Education Program, which is dedicated to trauma education in underserved parts of the globe.  Tulane Trauma and Critical Care surgeons provide the full spectrum of surgical procedures (and post-surgical care) which range from minimally invasive outpatient operations to those that are the most complex and difficult.  They do so with the most advanced technology and surgical technique to help patients heal faster and feel better.
