Thank you for your interest in Tulane University School Of Medicine (TUSOM). Below are some general timelines for TUSOM applicants.

Application Timelines

Secondary Application:

  • A secondary application will be sent to you from TUSOM once the primary application has been verified by AMCAS
  • AMCAS will email you when they release your application to TUSOM

Interview Invites:

  • Interview Invites are sent any time from July - February, no matter when the application was completed
  • No News is Good News-your application is either under review or in the 'queue' to be invited
  • Invites are sent out in blocks throughout the cycle
  • We review and invite chronologically. If someone cancels their interview, you may have a chance to move up your interview
  • If you do not receive an invite by the first week of March, our slots are full and you will receive a rejection letter
  • After you interview we strive to get notice out in 4-6 weeks of acceptance or non acceptance. 

Rejection Notice:

  • We strive to email rejection notices within 3-5 weeks of an application being complete
  • Volume is heavy from October-December and it may take 4-6 weeks for the notice to be sent.

Acceptance Range/Waitlist

Acceptance range/ wait-listed applicants could be accepted at any time after the interview, but this usually occurs after interviews are completed in March, with peak activity in May.

Acceptance Range Applications remain active and eligible for selection until:

  • you are offered a place in the class
  • classes have begun (early August)
  • you have withdrawn from our Acceptance Range

LATEST DATE FOR EARLY DECISION APPLICANTS:

LATEST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF SECONDARY APPLICATION AND ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION: NOVEMBER 1, AUGUST 1 (early decision)

Applicants are advised to complete and return the secondary application, and to request all supporting documentation, as soon as possible; files do not receive initial review until all documentation has been received. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all supporting documentation has been received by the Office of Admission in a timely manner.

EARLY DECISION: OCTOBER 1

REGULAR: OCOTBER 15 (ROLLING, THEREAFTER)

DEPOSIT: (to hold place in class) APRIL 30

ORIENTATION: AUGUST 2, 2024

CLASSES BEGIN: AUGUST 5, 2024

INTERVIEW INVITATIONS: EMAILED JULY THROUGH FEBRUARY

INTERVIEWS ARE BY INVITATION ONLY: AUGUST THROUGH MARCH.
