The Tulane School of Medicine is proud to welcome Vamsi K. Mootha, MD—a world-renowned leader in mitochondrial biology and systems medicine—for the 49th Annual Fred W. Schüeler Distinguished Lectureship in Pharmacology.

Dr. Mootha’s groundbreaking work spans medicine, genomics, mathematics, and systems biology, reshaping how we understand mitochondrial disease and opening new paths for diagnosis and treatment. His lecture, “Systems Approaches to Mitochondrial Biology and Disease,”will highlight how integrative, data-driven science is transforming modern biomedical research.
