East Jefferson General Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital that was formed in 1965, opened its doors in 1971 and in 2020 joined LCMC Health, an 8-hospital system serving the healthcare needs of the Gulf Coast region. Now the clinical home for Tulane University School of Medicine, East Jefferson has entered a new era as an expanded hub for specialty care, advanced treatment, and academic medicine. The 420-bed hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is Louisiana's first Nurse Magnet hospital.

University Medical Center

Charity Hospital was founded in 1737: fifty years before our country. It is the longest continually running public hospital in the country. It will be there long after we have all come and gone. Tulane’s involvement with staffing the Charity wards dates back to 1834. Almost since it’s inception, Charity and Tulane have been partners in delivering healthcare to the underserved.

Veterans' Affairs Hospital 

The VA Hospital is a new hospital facility located within blocks of Tulane. It serves as the referral location for all VA admissions in the area, ranging from Western to Mississippi to Eastern Texas. It provides full service coverage ranging from general medicine to subspecialty care. The average admissions per night is eight, and admissions cover all subspecialty areas. There are no subspecialty services and no patients managed by private physicians; all admissions go to the general medical ward team.

Tulane Lakeside Hospital

Tulane Lakeside Hospital is a satellite campus of Tulane Medical Center located in Metairie, LA (a suburb of New Orleans).  At Tulane Lakeside Hospital, Tulane physicians provide expert medical care for a wide range of services, though it emphasizes women’s healthcare. It is home to the Tulane Breast Health Center, a location of Tulane Aesthetic Surgery, and several Tulane Surgery Clinics. Tulane Surgery residents spend time here during the PGY2 year on breast surgery and plastic surgery and sometimes the PGY1 year on plastic surgery.

Children's Hospital

Children’s Hospital New Orleans is a 247-bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a complete range of healthcare services to children.  With over 400 physicians, 40 pediatric specialties, and 1700 surgical admissions annually, CHNO is the largest full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South. Tulane Surgery residents spend time here on their pediatric surgery rotation, typically during PGY3, and gain experience in a broad variety of pediatric general surgery topics as well as pediatric trauma and burns.
