Tulane Advanced Imaging Center (TAIC)
ABOUT TAIC
The Tulane Advanced Imaging Center (TAIC) occupies 1700-square-foot research suite located in the J Bennett Johnston Building on Tulane’s downtown campus. The centerpiece of the facility is a Siemens MAGNETOM Skyra 3T MRI System. The scanner is equipped for neuro, cardiac, body, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging in adult and pediatric patients, as well as animal imaging. Ongoing research includes studies of structure and function of both the heart and brain.

Facilities

Siemens MAGNETOM Skyra 3T MRI System
The system features a short and wide appearance (173 cm system length and 70 cm bore) to reduce patient anxiety and claustrophobia. The Skyra comes equipped with actively shielded water-cooled gradient system (45 mT/m gradients with a slew rate of 200 T/m/s) that allows for faster acquisition times and improved spatial resolution as well as a digital RF transmit and receive architecture to reduce dielectric effects. The system provides simultaneous connectivity and parallel imaging across a 48-channel Tim phased array coil system.

Trauma Informed Care
This workshop aims to enhance medical residents’ understanding of trauma, its impact on patients, and practical strategies for delivering trauma-informed care.

Standardized Patient Session
Emphasize the role of empathy, active listening, and nonjudgmental attitudes.
