The Tulane Advanced Imaging Center (TAIC) is a state-of-the-art MRI research facility located within the Tulane University School of Medicine. Established in August 2024, TAIC supports both pre-clinical and clinical research by providing advanced magnetic resonance imaging capabilities to Tulane investigators and external collaborators.
TAIC is dedicated to advancing scientific discovery through high-quality imaging services, technical expertise, and operational support. The center serves as a key resource for researchers working across a wide range of disciplines and study types, from early-stage experimental protocols to more complex clinical research.
Our Capabilities
TAIC is equipped with cutting-edge MRI technology and staffed by a specialized team experienced in both clinical and pre-clinical imaging protocols. The facility is built to accommodate research requiring:
- Advanced MRI protocols tailored for human and animal studies
- Coordination with IRB/IACUC and regulatory compliance teams
- Scheduling and billing support
- Custom imaging workflows designed in collaboration with investigators
- Training and safety guidance for research teams
The TAIC team works closely with research faculty and support units to ensure efficient, compliant, and scientifically rigorous use of imaging services.
Leadership & Oversight
TAIC is led by a multidisciplinary team of experts.
Chao Huang, PhD, Senior Director of MRI Operations, oversees the day-to-day activities of the center, working closely with the TAIC Medical Director and the School of Medicine’s Director of Research Operations. Together, they ensure that TAIC delivers high-impact imaging services while aligning with institutional research priorities.
