Shared Instrumentation Facility

The Shared Instrumentation Facility (SIF) is a core facility that offers access to instrumentation and technical services to accommodate a variety of investigations in the basic molecular biosciences. The SIF is housed in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on the 6th floor of the Hutchinson building on Tulane's Downtown campus.

FEES: Equipment usage fees are charged for a number of instruments as a means to recover a portion of the cost associated with maintaining the equipment.

TRAINING: Specialty training is required for certain SIF equipment to ensure proper usage prior to reserving on iLab. Please email biosif@tulane.edu to schedule a training for the following equipment to become an iLab permitted user:

Access to SIF equipment is available 24/7 with our 24-hour key check-out! To check out a 24-hour SIF key, a Confocal Microscope room key, or a MicroCT key, please email core staff at biosif@tulane.edu to schedule key check-out and pick-up from the Core Staff Office (Rm. 6722A).
