The Summer Undergraduate Research Program within CTRII is an intensive program designed to gain significant experience in the field of biomedical research in the area of infection and inflammation.
About the Program
Students will have the opportunity to:
- Obtain hands-on research experience
- Work with faculty who share similar research interests.
- Receive individualized mentoring and participate in weekly seminars, lab meetings and journal clubs.
- Interact with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students
- Learn valuable technical skills relevant to laboratory research
- Provide insight into graduate education as well as research as a potential career path
Students generally work for 10 weeks and are provided a stipend.
Program Requirements
- Current student in good academic standing that has completed one year of undergraduate coursework in biology or biomedical-related fields
- Interested in considering a career in research
- Motivated to participate in ongoing research projects at Tulane School of Medicine
- Own transportation and housing arrangements
- Able to commit to 10 weeks of lab work
