The Tulane Adult Infectious Disease Fellowship Program is available to qualified applicants who wish to pursue an academic, public health-oriented or clinical career in Infectious Diseases. Applicants must have completed at least three years of Internal Medicine education and be ABIM board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
The Tulane Adult Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program is “ALL IN” the NRMP match. All positions available for training are available only through the match. Application is made via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and we participate in the Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP) of the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
We are unable to review applications submitted outside of ERAS, including for any post-match, unfilled positions.
To be considered complete, an application must include the following documents:
- Personal Statement
- Common Application Form (CAF) accounting for all time between med school graduation and present date
- Copy of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate if medical school was completed outside of the US
- Certified USMLE or COMPLEX Transcript (or equivalent)
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) and Medical School Transcript
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation, one of which must be from your internal medicine residency program director
Additional information/documentation may be needed prior to formal acceptance.
International medical graduates who are not United States citizens must be eligible for a J-1 visa sponsored by the ECFMG. In general, Tulane University School of Medicine does not sponsor work visas (H-1B) for graduate medical education.
All ID fellowship interview will be conducted virtually. Logistics of the interview day will be provided upon invitation.
