Neurology

Chair's Welcome

The Department of Neurology at Tulane University School of Medicine is passionate about preserving and improving neurological health through clinical practice, education, and research (our Mission). We aspire to be the best providers, teachers, and innovators of neurology in our Gulf Coast and South-Central U.S. regions (our Vision). We are fulfilling our mission and achieving our vision through joy: creating a workplace that people love (our Strategy).

With the Tulane Clinical Neuroscience Research Center, we are developing a robust and novel experimental therapeutics pipeline, to address a multitude of unsolved neurological problems. The Tulane Healthy Brain Aging Initiative seeks to prevent and reduce the burden of cognitive decline and dementia, through prevention, treatment, support, and research (changing the paradigm of neurology, from palliation to prevention). We integrate neurology, neurosurgery, clinical neurosciences research, and related initiatives under the administrative umbrella of the Tulane Center for Clinical Neurosciences.

In closing, I hope for Tulane Neurology to be a loving, kind, and welcoming department, where diverse views and approaches are encouraged; a dedicated place of learning; and a safe place to deliver and receive highly satisfying care of the best quality (our Culture). And should we innovate medicine in the course of that work, it would be icing on the cake!
