Welcome to the Tulane University Department of Neurological Surgery.  Our residency program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and currently accepts one or two residents each year.  However, now is a very exciting time for the Tulane University/Ochsner Clinic Foundation program as we have experienced a great deal of growth over the past three years.  The opportunity to provide care to patients with diverse neurological diseases in New Orleans and Southern Louisiana has attracted many new, highly-trained faculty.  These faculty bring expertise in the fields of cerebrovascular disease, complex spinal conditions, and skull base conditions.  Furthermore, we are in the process of applying for expansion in the number of residents as the number of surgeries being performed at both training sites has blossomed.Read More

We are dedicated to providing the finest neurosurgical education to our residents while remaining compliant with the regulations governing training institutions.  We are accomplishing this goal via extensive clinical exposure that covers a wide breadth and depth of conditions in a collegial atmosphere as well as ensuring adequate time for didactic opportunities and educational pursuits.

Our goal is to produce not only greatly skilled neurosurgeons, but also professionals who will make contributions to medical knowledge and will become the future leaders in their fields.
