The Tulane NICU service at Manning Family Children’s, in partnership with LSU Health, provides comprehensive, high-acuity care for newborns across the Gulf South. This collaborative program brings together expert neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary specialists to care for the region’s most vulnerable infants.
Our team delivers the full spectrum of neonatal care—from advanced resuscitation and stabilization at birth to the management of complex medical and surgical conditions, including extreme prematurity, congenital anomalies, and critical illness. With access to state-of-the-art technology and a wide range of pediatric subspecialists, we are equipped to provide the highest level of care in a dedicated children’s hospital setting.
Tulane faculty play a central role in clinical care, education, and research, working alongside partners to train the next generation of physicians and advance innovation in neonatal medicine. Families benefit from coordinated, compassionate, and family-centered care designed to support both infants and their loved ones throughout their NICU journey.
Tulane Neonatology contributes daily to undergraduate and graduate medical education through student and resident rotations. In addition, the group participates in continuing medical education routinely through presentations at local and national scientific meetings and educational workshops.
The Neonatology group is invested in patient safety and clinical quality improvement education through mentoring of student and resident projects, design and delivery of resident safety and quality curriculum, and faculty development in patient safety and quality improvement methodologies.
