The primary goal of the fellowship is to provide superior clinical training in advanced CT, ultrasound and MR imaging of the body. This goal is accomplished by the dedication of faculty members who are deeply committed to resident and fellow education. All of our body imaging faculty are fellowship-trained in their areas of expertise. The fellowships provides unparalleled educational and clinical experience, thanks to the volume, variety and breadth of pathology. The fellow will work side by side with the staff radiologists, and will interact with clinicians of wide range of specialties. Fellows can participate in multiple interdepartment conferences which include Abdominal Transplant conference, Multidisciplinary Liver conference, Endocrine conference, Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer conference and potential CTLD Lung Screen conference. Cross-sectional fellows will be trained in the comprehensive use and interpretation of the latest imaging techniques and post-processing software.
The fellows will learn in-depth protocol design and development. The department offers advanced MR imaging technology, including MR Liver Elastogaphy, MR Liver Fat and Iron quantification. The department has a robust MR Prostate program where we work closely with Urology Department and Medical Oncology of Tulane School of Medicine. Fellows will also learn indications and will become proficient in a wide variety of fundamental percutaneous interventional procedures. The department of radiology houses state-of-the-art equipment including multiple multidetector CT scanners, one 3T MRI and two 1.5T MRI scanners, and multiple modern ultrasound scanners. The fellowship is divided into 13 blocks of four weeks each: combined body CT/MRI (five blocks), ultrasound (one block), Interventional Radiology at Tulane University Hospital (one block), Veteran Hospital (one block), Research Elective (one block) and Electives (four blocks). The elective blocks are a strength of the fellowship, which allow the fellows further enhance their skills in areas within and outside the scope of body imaging. This non-ACGME Fellowship is a one-year only junior faculty (Clinical Instructor) position within the School of Medicine. Candidates MUST be board eligible or certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology and hold or be eligible for a permanent medical license in Louisiana

The radiology department’s diagnostic division has two main locations, Tulane Hospital and Clinics, and Tulane Lakeside Hospital. Other affiliated hospitals include West Jefferson Hospital, Children’s Hospital and Veteran Hospital
