PIPE Scholars

We are trying to correct some of the imbalance by stimulating students to take an interest in medicine, join medical school, and then, hopefully, pursue urology as a career. Tulane Urology has taken the lead by initiating the PIPE (Purposeful Infrastructure Promoting Equality) Scholars Program. For this, we receive applications from individuals who have completed two years of college and who show an interest in a medical career. After applicants are interviewed, two are chosen to participate in the summer. During the program, our scholars will learn basic science research and shadow faculty in the urologic clinical setting.
