Medical students who are interested in Orthopaedics can learn more through Tulane Students Affairs’ Career Advising Program. The CAP has created an orthopaedic-specific page with helpful information about the specialty.
Medical students who are interested in applying for visiting rotations/clinical clerkships with our Orthopaedic Surgery program must apply through the proper channels.
Applications from students outside of Tulane Medical School are only accepted through the AAMC VSLO program. Students must meet certain requirements as set by our Student Affairs office. Please contact the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs for additional information.
Tulane Medical Students should schedule orthopaedic rotations through E-Medley and as directed by Student Affairs. For general information about orthopaedic electives/clerkships, first contact Student Affairs. For specific questions about elective courses, please contact the appropriate orthopaedic faculty:
- Dr. Leland McCluskey - Orthopaedic Pathways Faculty Advisor
- Dr. Jacques Courseault - PM&R Medical Director
- Dr. K. Chandra Vemulapalli - Orthopaedic Surgery Academic Advisor
- Dr. Bill Sherman - Vice Chair of Orthopaedic Research
- Dr. K. Chandra Vemulapalli - Course Director for all upper-level orthopaedic electives
The Orthopaedics Interest Group (OIG) is a student-run organization for Tulane University medical students interested in orthopaedics. Students who are interested in orthopaedics are strongly encouraged to join the OIG.
Orthopaedic Grand Rounds are being held in-person and virtually on Tuesdays from 6 pm to 8 pm. Email OrthoGrandRounds@tulane.edu if you'd like to participate.
