The Tulane Department of Otolaryngology aspires to ensure a diverse and inclusive environment that achieves equity for members, patients, and our community. Our goal is to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within our program by supporting efforts to attract and retain groups underrepresented in medicine, more specifically in the field of Otolaryngology. We will work to educate our faculty and residents on cultural competency/humility, implicit bias, and healthcare disparities through various educational strategies. We will incorporate education programs specific to addressing socioeconomic determinants of health, access to care, and health disparities. Promoting the value of inclusive diversity within the field of otolaryngology is of the upmost importance to our program.
