Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education prior to matriculation into the program.

Two semesters (6 credit hours) of General Chemistry (with lab preferred)
One semester (3 credit hours) of Mathematics (Calculus, Algebra, Statistics)
One semester (2 credit hours) of English Composition

Applicants must complete the necessary prerequisites for matriculation within 10 years of their application submission date. Each prerequisite course needs to meet the minimum semester hours listed above, receive a final grade of a “C” or better, and must be taken at an accredited institution of higher education prior to matriculation into the program.
Letters of Recommendation:
Three letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicant’s educational capabilities, work ethic, and professionalism. These must be signed by the writer on appropriate letterhead.
Experience:
Evidence of exposure to anatomic pathology is required. Shadowing or work experience is highly recommended.
Applicants to the Anatomic Pathology Program (Pathologists' Assistant Program) are required to submit a personal statement (500–1,000 words) addressing the following:
Your motivation and journey toward pursuing a career as a Pathologists' Assistant
Relevant shadowing and/or professional experience in Anatomic Pathology, including a description of your responsibilities and insights gained
Grade Point Average:
A minimum overall and prerequisite grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is recommended.
Transcripts:
Official transcripts from each college, university, and community college previously or currently attended are required. Transcripts must be sent directly from each institution.
Resume or Curriculum Vitae:
A resume or curriculum vitae is required.
Interview:
A personal interview with faculty members is required.
