Tulane Radiation Oncology takes the lead in clinical expertise and excellence in the New Orleans region.
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Tulane University School of Medicine is the only university, academic-based Radiation Oncology Department in the city of New Orleans. As a teaching program, our program focuses on the most up to date treatment approaches. Our program has consistently taken the lead and provided expertise to the region for the newest radiation oncology treatments.
Our physicians are constantly exploring the next generation treatment approaches in order to offer the most up-to-date treatment options. Our doctors are regularly asked to present at the American Society of Radiation Oncology’s national meeting to highlight Tulane’s leading edge and innovative approaches to eradicate cancer.
Our radiation oncologists specialize in stereotactic (highly precise) radiation techniques that provide patients with an entire course of radiation treatments in one to three days for many cancers. Every cancer patient has their unique case discussed in a weekly conference with multiple oncology specialists in order to produce the most effective and comprehensive treatment recommendation.
As leaders in their field, Tulane University radiation oncologists provide expert guidance and review to other radiation oncology physicians and programs throughout the country by reviewing their programs in order to validate their techniques, safety, and provide them with certification.
You will find the most highly trained oncology nurses, board certified dosimetrists, PhD physicists, dieticians, social workers, and staff members all charged with providing the best cancer care in the region.
