Our In-House Cancer Counseling Center Attends to the Emotional Needs of Our Patients and Their Families — The Patricia Trost Friedler Cancer Counseling Center at Tulane Comprehensive Cancer Clinic offers psychological, emotional, and educational support for our patients and their family members through a number of services, including individual counseling, support groups, a resource library, and access to a patient navigator who is available to assist during outpatient clinic visits.
The center is designed to enable patients and families to cope more effectively with the emotional and physical aspects of cancer and its treatment by providing emotional support, education and practical help. The programs are shaped by a belief that mental and physical health are interrelated and that there are rich untapped resources deep within each person. By discovering and mobilizing these resources, one can increase emotional well-being and lead a healthier, happier life.
