Applicant Information

Thank you for your interest in our program. Currently, we are offering six categorical, four-year positions and two advanced (resident) spots for the 2026 Residency Match.

Persons who match with our program in March 2026 will automatically be enrolled to start a Clinical Base Year (“CBY,” “PGY1” or “Intern”) in Tulane’s Internal Medicine Department. No separate application is needed for this. This would begin June 21, 2026; Clinical Anesthesiology (CA1 = PGY2) begins June 2027.

Tulane Anesthesiology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

We will be accepting applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We require the following:

  • Personal statement
  • CV
  • Transcripts from an accredited U.S. medical school (allopathic or osteopathic)
  • At least three letters of recommendation from physicians who have supervised you in a clinical setting; for those who have completed a residency, a letter from the program director is also required.
  • USMLE transcripts. We prefer to see Step I & II scores before November 15.
  • Dean’s letter

International graduates must have a J-1 visa sponsored by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates to apply.
