The Tulane Department of Neurology has a strong academic foundation and prides itself on providing excellent education to both students and residents. It is recognized for being patient friendly, well trained clinical neurologists who provide special expertise on the complexities of neurological disease. We try our best to promote excellence in patient care. We have established a well-deserved reputation for excellence in neurological education both from the standpoint of medical students and neurology resident training. We are ranked 18th in medical schools in the United States for success in training academic neurologists among our medical students. The Tulane Stroke Research Program participates in National Institutes of Health-funded, industry-sponsored, and investigator initiated clinical trials of acute stroke therapies and modifiable predictors of stroke outcome.
