As Program Director of Obstetrics & Gynecology, I welcome opportunities to enhance our residents' educational program through their clinical experiences and research endeavors. We have many goals during your four years in our program. Most importantly the resident in our program will learn:
Tulane's patient diversity and award-winning teaching faculty is the strength of our program. The diversity of severity of disease, types of disease and, most importantly, the diversity of people makes for fertile soil for the growth and development of outstanding clinicians. The program seeks individuals with a moral compass… people who see life as something bigger than themselves.
Opportunities for research projects are abundant at Tulane. One research project is required while in the program as a key component of professional development. Small projects such as developing and evaluating quality improvement initiatives within a clinic or hospital setting are indeed practical experiences to have prior to joining any clinical practice. I enjoy mentoring residents in research projects and with your interest and participation, we will continue to contribute to the published literature.
I trained at Tulane and always am grateful for the opportunity to have my residency training at Tulane. That Tulane experience prompted my return, after fellowship training in the West Coast, to humbly join my many respected teachers / mentors in the continued pursuit of the best training program in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the next generation.
