Give Green 2023 a successful day at Tulane University School of Medicine
Give Green is a one-day effort to encourage giving of all sizes, and even the smallest gifts made a big impact for Tulane University School of Medicine this year. A total of 230 generous donors gave $51,618, helping the School of Medicine unlock matching bonuses and take home an extra $1,000 as a fourth-place finisher in The Matt Gorson Big Green Grand Prize.
The first 150 donors helped the School of Medicine unlock $5,000 given by Dr. Gwen Barnum Melton (M *79) and Dr. Kenneth Melton (A&S '74, M *78) to support the Dean’s Fund for Excellence. When the School of Medicine topped $10,000 in gifts, it unlocked an additional $10,000 matching donation pledged by Dr. Lori Kaelin (M *87).
"I am very thankful to Tulane School of Medicine for the great educational experiences that I received there,” said Kaelin. “It has given me the opportunity to have a wonderful career as a physician and to do what I love. I am happy to give back in support of the next generation of Tulane physicians."
The money raised from Give Green will support four initiatives at the School of Medicine, the Dean’s Fund for Excellence, Adopt-A-Student Scholarship Fund, Dean’s Discovery Fund for Medical Research, and Diversity & Inclusiveness Initiatives Fund.
