Prominent cardiologist Sid Bhansali, MD, joins Tulane Doctors
A longtime cardiologist in New Orleans is bringing his expertise to the Tulane University Medical Group. Sid Bhansali, MD, has served patients across the region for 43 years. Dr. Bhansali first came to New Orleans in 1974 to train as a resident at Tulane University School of Medicine and went on to complete a cardiology fellowship, also at Tulane.
In 1979 he began his private practice, where he and his partners helped many patients by performing the first balloon angioplasties in the New Orleans region. While he is becoming a member of the Tulane Doctors family, his practice will remain conveniently located where he has served patients for years at the uptown New Orleans clinic on Napoleon Avenue.
Dr. Bhansali said he is very excited to join Tulane Doctors: “To some degree, it feels like a continuity, but on the other hand, it’s exciting to have young, clever associates joining me. You know, it’s always nice to have bright young minds working with you rather than working on an island by yourself.”
Current Tulane Doctors are also enthusiastic to be working with Dr. Bhansali. “We look forward to expanding cardiovascular care to the uptown area and providing the highest level of care and access for patients in this region. We are delighted to partner with Dr. Bhansali in growing the number of Tulane cardiologists in New Orleans and surrounding areas,” said Dr. Victor Thannickal.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Dr. Bhansali to our team, a cardiologist known for his long history of service to our community, and his diverse cultural interests,” said Dr. Anand Irimpen.
