Tulane Medicine launches “House Call” series to connect innovators with industry experts
Tulane School of Medicine is proud to introduce the "House Call" brand, a dynamic series aimed at bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and its practical application in the medical field. This initiative builds upon a successful series of prior visits with companies such as IndieBio, Atomwise, Elanco - and most recently Boehringer Ingelheim - as the School of Medicine invites companies and investors to engage directly with the creative minds of our community on our home turf. Whether virtual or in-person, each House Call event fosters discussions that challenge conventional processes, inspire fresh ideas, and promote collaborative efforts. The goal is to transform scientific discoveries into tangible healthcare solutions, accelerating the journey from bench to bedside and bringing the future of medicine to life.
The first House Call will be held on Thursday, September 19 at noon, and we’re thrilled to announce it will feature the Nissan Chemical Corporation. Renowned for their expertise in drug discovery and API manufacturing, Nissan Chemical boasts over $1.5 billion in annual sales. The company excels in materials and biological evaluation, tackling challenges across drug discovery, regenerative medicine, cosmetics, and beyond. Their commitment to innovation includes seeking new academic collaborations to identify and co-develop preclinical candidates, which are then advanced with pharmaceutical partners for further development and marketing. This strategic approach accelerates the path from research to market, benefiting patients and generating revenue.
“We’re excited to bring our House Call series to Tulane School of Medicine, continuing our tradition of fostering collaboration between academia and industry,” said Elaine Hamm, PhD, Executive in Residence for Tulane University School of Medicine. “This initiative provides a unique platform for our researchers to engage directly with leaders from Nissan Chemical Corporation and explore innovative solutions in drug discovery and development. By facilitating these interactions, we aim to drive forward the future of medicine and accelerate the translation of research into impactful healthcare solutions."
Nissan Chemical is particularly interested in the oligonucleotide space but remains open to exploring various therapeutic fields. If you are working on oligonucleotides, addressing unmet medical needs, or have intriguing disease targets, this is an invaluable opportunity to explore potential collaborations. Join us to gain insights into new innovations in drug discovery and development and become an active participant in shaping the future of healthcare.
