Norman E. McSwain, Jr., M.D. was a legend in the field of trauma surgery. His accolades speak for themselves. He served as a professor of surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine, Director of the Spirit of Charity Trauma Center at ILH Hospital in New Orleans, police surgeon for the N.O.P.D., founder of Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Clinical professor of surgery at LSU and Clinical professor of surgery at Services University of Health Sciences. He was a member of the development committee of Advanced Trauma Life Support.
