Class of 2028 Profile
Tulane received 13,443 AMCAS applications this year for a class of 190 students. The incoming class’s MCAT score average was 50 and the overall undergraduate GPA was 3.61 with ages ranging from 20 to 55 years.
Thirty states and seven countries are represented with Louisiana, California, Texas, and New York having the greatest numbers. One hundred colleges and universities are represented in this year’s class with Tulane, LSU, Wisconsin, and Vanderbilt positioned at the top of the list. The class also welcomed 13 students who are first-generation college students.
This class has completed more than 202,000 hours of research and more than 120,000 hours of community service prior to matriculation.
Some class members already possess an advanced degree including 63 with a Masters of Science, seven with a Masters of Public Health, four with a Masters of Art and one with a PhD. The top seven majors were biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, psychology, public health and economics. Other majors include history, anthropology, biomedical engineering, and architecture. Bachelors of Arts degrees make up 16% of the class compared to 84% of those who obtained a Bachelors of Science.
