Class of 2029 Profile

Tulane received 13,814 AMCAS applications this year for a class of 190 students. The incoming class’s MCAT score average was 510 and the overall undergraduate GPA was 3.70 with ages ranging from 20 to 45 years.
Thirty states and seven countries are represented with Louisiana, Florida, California, Texas, and Georgia having the greatest numbers. Eighty-five colleges and universities are represented in this year’s class with Tulane, LSU, Florida and Virginia positioned at the top of the list. The class also welcomed 15 students who are first-generation college students.
This class has completed more than 173,000 hours of research and more than 108,000 hours of community service prior to matriculation.
Some class members already possess an advanced degree including 36 with a Masters of Science, six with a Masters of Public Health, one with a Masters of Sciences in Nursing and one with a PhD. The top seven majors were biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, public health, cell and molecular biology, psychology, and economics. Other majors include history, anthropology, biomedical engineering, and architecture. Non-science majors make up 25% of the class compared to 75% of those who obtained a Bachelors of Science.
