Tulane Doctoral Student Earns National Cancer Institute Award for Drug Delivery Research
Tulane doctoral candidate Taylor Fuselier has received a prestigious three-year Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Cancer Institute to support his work in drug delivery research. Under the mentorship of biochemistry professor William C. Wimley, Fuselier is studying peptides that can cross cell membranes, helping therapies reach parts of cells normally inaccessible. His work has potential applications for diseases ranging from cancer to blood infections, offering what he calls a “Swiss Army knife” tool for researchers developing new treatments.
