Welcome to the Tulane University School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology Residency Program!
As Program Director, I am thrilled to introduce you to a residency program that prioritizes excellence in patient care, comprehensive education, and a vibrant, inclusive community. At Tulane, we believe that the key to producing top-notch otolaryngologists lies in providing our residents with diverse clinical experiences, strong academic support, and a culture that values resident wellness.
Our training spans several prestigious institutions, each contributing a unique perspective to your education. East Jefferson General Hospital offers exposure to complex cases and cutting-edge treatments, fostering a dynamic learning environment. At Ochsner Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in the region, you will experience high-volume surgical training and a collaborative approach to care. The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Hospital allows residents to serve our nation’s veterans, gaining expertise in managing a broad spectrum of ENT conditions. At University Medical Center, you will confront trauma and tertiary care challenges while addressing healthcare disparities. Finally, at Touro Infirmary, you’ll engage in the nuances of private practice, broadening your surgical and patient care skills.
Our faculty, spread across all of these institutions, are dedicated educators committed to your growth. In addition to weekly didactic conferences, we offer hands-on cadaveric simulation courses, enriching journal clubs, and a strong emphasis on research to ensure you are well-prepared for every aspect of our specialty.
We take pride in fostering an inclusive, welcoming work culture that values resident wellness. We are excited to have you join our community, where we are committed to helping you thrive both professionally and personally.
Thank you,
Rizwan Aslam, DO, MSMEd, MBA, MPH, FACS
