Ordering Regalia
Students will work directly with the campus bookstore to order and purchase regalia for themselves and (if applicable) their special hooders.
Please order the regalia online at www.tulane.shopoakhalli.com by April 12th to receive it in time for commencement and avoid late fees. See the following steps on how to order your regalia:
- On the website homepage, select 'Doctoral Souvenir Package' and scroll down to 'Let’s get started'.
- Select your Degree package level - 'Doctorial Souvenir Package - Ship to Home'
- Select your degree - School of Medicine > Doctor of Medicine
- Select 'Complete Package'; The price for the complete package is $230.92. It includes 1 gown, 1 hood, and 1 tam and tassel.
Policy on Hooding for Graduation
During the Tulane School of Medicine diploma ceremony, students are donned with a graduate hood as recognition for the completion of their degrees. Each student is only allowed 1 special hooder. The hooder must be a Tulane School of Medicine Faculty member only. Those students planning to be hooded by a special hooder should complete the Special Hooder Form by April 17, 2026. Please only list one person to hood you and only submit one form. All other students will be hooded by the class sponsor that was previously voted on by their class.
Special Hooders must wear regalia to participate in the ceremony. Students will need to order regalia for their hooders via the website above only if:
- They are alumni of Tulane School of Medicine
- No longer have regalia from the institution where they acquired their degree
- They are unable to get their own from their institution.
We recommend that you find out if your special hooder will need regalia before ordering your own, as it is easiest to order everything at once.
