We are proud to welcome the new T1 students of the Class of 2026: 190 amazing future physicians were selected from nearly 16,000 applicants to the Tulane University School of Medicine this past year. Our newest students graduated from over 83 colleges and universities and hail from 31 states. While 33 students are from Louisiana, 8 students are joining us from other countries; 11 students are first-generation and 23% of the class is comprised of underrepresented minorities.
A common characteristic, in addition to strong academic performance, has been a documented commitment to service. Tulane University School of Medicine has been instrumental in caring for and supporting the people of New Orleans for nearly 200 years, and we have sought out applicants who will embrace this same commitment. While receiving stellar medical training and experiencing the unique culture offered by life in the Crescent City, the Class of 2026 will maintain the same tradition of compassionate care provided by previous generations of Tulane students.
