APAMSA (Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association) is a national organization that brings students together who are involved in the unique health issues of Asian American and Pacific Islanders in the United States. At our local Tulane chapter, we engage with the large Vietnamese population in New Orleans through health screenings conducted during the year. In addition to our initiatives focused on promoting the health and well-being of these communities, APAMSA remains committed to promoting mentorship by supporting minority college students interested in the pre-medical pathway. Moreover, we strive to illuminate the collective Asian American experience by hosting events that serve as spaces for discussion and for celebration, including lunch socials, blood drives, AANHPI match panels, and mentorship talks.
